This is a successful case that combines the use of both “YUE-LIN” and “BioTrue Probiotics.”
The Keelung Landfill Leachate Treatment Facility is designed to handle up to 6,000 tons per day, comprehensively treating harmful components in wastewater, including organic pollutants and ammonia nitrogen. Advanced biological, chemical, and sludge treatment technologies are employed to ensure stable water quality and promote recycling.
Biological Treatment Unit
In the aerobic biological treatment phase, the facility uses patented technology — the “BioTrue Probiotics” (MJ) system. These microorganisms work with protozoa to adsorb suspended organic substances in the water, breaking down pollutants and stabilizing water quality. BioTrue Probiotics are distributed throughout the water, effectively treating wastewater and enhancing the quality of discharged water.
Chemical Coagulation Treatment Unit
Following biological treatment, fine microorganisms and suspended solids in the leachate undergo chemical coagulation treatment. The patented product “PPC Power Wastewater Purification Agent” is added in rapid mixing and coagulation tanks, where it binds suspended solids into flocs, which are then separated in a three-stage sedimentation tank to ensure purity of the water.
Ammonia Removal and Discharge Unit
For ammonia nitrogen removal, NaOH is used to raise the pH to above 12, and the water temperature is elevated to 50°C to promote ammonia volatilization and decomposition. Ammonia gas is extracted in a stripping tower and reacts with sulfuric acid to form ammonium sulfate. Finally, the water is purified with “YUE-LIN Water Quality Enhancer” (YL) and can be safely discharged or recycled.
Sludge Treatment Unit
During the sludge treatment process, sludge generated from biological and chemical treatment is mixed with the “YUE-LIN Soil Revitalizer” (YL) to deodorize and purify, enhancing the soil's mineral content.
The treated sludge is dewatered and pressed into sludge cakes, which are regularly transported by EPA-certified vendors for landfill or reuse.
