This study used a series of climate models and socioeconomic scenarios to assess and rank future water stress in 167 countries, specifically forecasting conditions for 2020, 2030, and 2040.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research indicates that by 2040, 33 countries will experience severe water stress, with Argentina facing moderate to high risk, with a 20% to 40% likelihood of water shortages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the forecast shows that some countries will see a significant change in water stress compared to current levels, including Chile, Botswana, Estonia, and Namibia.
